Process

Coho Partners takes a bottom up approach to finding high quality and appropriately priced investments.

We screen a universe of about 2000 stocks on various financial metrics including predictable earnings and dividend growth, high levels of intrinsic profitability, cash flow, and a bias towards share repurchase, giving us a working universe of 250 equities.

We narrow this universe down to about 100 companies for our "watch list" from which we populate our portfolio with about 25 holdings.

In order to make the final cut, we require one on one meetings with company management to see if the people responsible for achieving the long term operating and financial goals have the resources at hand to succeed in their long term objectives.

Portfolios are diversified at all times across a wide range of demand defensive and economically sensitive industries, as well as exposure to select special situations.
